I'm on an alternate work week schedule, that allows me to take off every other Friday. I end up working 9 hours Monday-Thursday and the opposite Fridays are 8 hours. I really enjoy the schedule. It allows me to get more done on those 3 day weekends. I get to stay up later tonight and then tomorrow I have errands to run.
I'm finally going to pick up my Brunette, Blonde, and Redhead items from MAC. I know, the next collections, Cream Team and Well-Defined will be out next week, but I've been soooo busy. Its a good thing nothing's sold out yet. On my list is What A Do! lipstick, Quick Tease lipglass, Soft Wave lipglass, Red Devil lipglass, Strawberry Blonde lipglass, Flip eyeshadow, French Cuff eyeshadow, and 100 Strokes eyeshadow. I may look at Henna eyeshadow.
I will have to stop by next week or order online Cream Team lipsticks and lipglasses. I think I'll wait on the Studio Sculpt Foundation and concealer until I need new foundation. As much as I'd like to try them, I can't justify buying new, when I already have 2 bottles.
Last night we downed 3 more bosses in Naxx. We got stuck at the very beginning on The Four Horsemen. We had several people who had never done them before and a one who had never raided before, so the first couple of tries were learning experiences. Fortunately, the guild officer in charge of the bank opened the guild bank for repairs for the night. That definitely helped with the costs associated with raiding and I appreciated it. We wiped on them 5 times before we got them down. After that, the Construct Quarter. Patchwerk went down without too much trouble although it was close to the enrage timer. Globbulous went really well as did Gluth. No wipes so far in the Construct Quarter. Tonight is Thaddeus and Saphiron and hopefully Kel'Thuzad. It'd be really great if we could finish Naxx tonight and get the key to 25-man Malygos.
I think the goal right now for the guild is to get the raids on 'farm mode'. OS is at that point and if we can finish Naxx tonight, we'll be really close to being able to farm it for both 10-man and 25-man. I think they are trying to set it up so that Tuesday-Thursday we do 25-man raids, all of them in 3 days would be ideal. Then on the weekends and non-official raid nights get into 10-mans and run those for those who can't make regular raid nights, but would still like to raid.

Late nights make for early mornings
We had a great 25-man Naxx group last night! We got through the Spider, Plague, and the first two bosses of the Miltary Quarter. Although we finished up later than our usual time, it was still impressive we moved as fast as we did. We had no wipes but a few deaths here and there. Hopefully we can continue this pace tonight and get a try at Saphiron.
I got my Valorous Frostfire Gloves, now I need the Valorous Robe. I'll take whatever I can get for the Circlet and the Leggings as those seem to be the hardest to get. I need to take another look at my weapon. I may switch to a one-handed weapon and an offset, if and when I get the chance.
I realized last night that I need to clean up my bank bags and possibly get another slot and bag. I'll have to see if my hubby has any bags he can spare off his tailor. Things are sort of all over the place. I rarely, if ever, switch items out. Some I want to keep just because.
Part of the bank reorganization will also be to take stock of what I have and what I need for cooking and alchemy. I'm already working on a spreadsheet that will help me track what I need to farm next in order to keep up with Raids during the week.
Tonight I need to get 15 Lichbloom and 15 Icethorn and 3 Frost Lotus for flasks for Thursday night. At the very least I need to make good headway on that so I have flasks for myself and hubby for Thursday night's raid.

Exercise cuts into my WoW time
The DH insisted I take the dogs out for a walk yesterday evening. He was hoping the exercise and air would clear out my tiredness and grumpy mood. It only served to further make me unhappy. Both dogs chose to drag me through the entire neighborhood. I couldn't get them to stop pulling on their leashes. Every time I stopped one or both would get entangled in the leases forcing another stop to untangle dogs and leashes. Then, while trying to keep them untangled I got lost. What was supposed to be a nice easy 20 minute walk, turned into a 45 minute, "Where the hell am I going?", race through my neighborhood. Needless to say, I was hurting, and in a worse mood when I got home.
About an hour and a half later, we received a phone call that someone had picked up one of our dogs wandering the streets. I had apparently not closed the side gate all the way and Gaz decided to take a stroll on her own!
The guild had scheduled a time try to finish our 25 man Naxx, last night, even though our regular raid times are Tuesday - Thursday. We didn't have enough people on to do it so I worked on other things. I wasn't able to get in a group for any instances, but I completed quite a few other things on my "To Do" list. I have revered status with The Oracles now and will need to buy my first Mysterious Egg tonight. I'm aiming to get all the pets and the mounts before I switch over to get the Frenzyheart Achievements. I may switch back to The Oracles, after I complete the Frenzyheart, because those pets go for a lot on the AH. I completed exploring Northrend, so now I have the tabbard and I'll need to find the rare mobs to complete all the Northrend Exploration Achievements. I'm working my way through exploring the Eastern Kingdom. I believe I only have three more zones, Ghostlands, Eversong Woods, and Badlands. I have all of the Eastern Kingdoms' Elder Coins now as well. Amassing all the achievements, is a rather daunting task, but I think that's primarily what's keeping me in the game. Once I complete it all for my main, I'll start leveling my alts from their current levels of 60 and 40. I probably won't do all the achivements for them, but we'll see.

A WoW Weekend
We did it! Friday night we took down Saphiron, and on the first try. It took another couple of tries, but we finished Kel'Thuzad and Naxx. We now have the key (albeit only one in the guild) to 10-man Malygos the current final boss for WotLK. We made a good attempt at Malygos on Saturday evening and got to the third and final stage. We were not, however, able to take him down before he enraged. We'll try again next weekend, sometimes a little break helps everyone refocus and figure out what they were doing wrong before. Hopefully, like Saphiron we'll be able to take him down next weekend with little trouble and only a couple of tries.
Fishing went well, though I did not get as far as I had hoped. I'm currently sitting at 375 and I doubt I'll get a chance to improve it until next weekend. I fished at Valiance Keep and picked up some of the rarer fish for a fish feast once I'm skilled enough at cooking and have bought the recipe. For now, I'll just save them in the bank.
Speaking of saving, I had saved all the the Sons of Hodir Relics I accumulated while increasing my reputation with them to exalted. I had two stacks of 200 and with the new patch, they are no longer soulbound and available to sell. So a few were sent to a guildie to complete her rep status and the rest were sold to another guildie, so he wouldn't have to do the dailies with them. Yay!
This weekend also began the Lunar Festival. I'm actually almost done with all the achievements and will hopefully have my title soon. I have one more Elder to visit in the Eastern Kingdom and five more instances to find the Elders in them and get their coins. Not bad for one weekend, considering all the traveling it requires. I'm also trying to finish the Eastern Kingdom Explorer achievement as I go. I was almost done while I was working on the Winter Veil Achievement, but did not have time to finish.

"Skills to Pay the Bills"
Yay! I finally achieved my final Grand Mastery for this achievement. I hit fishing skill 350 last night. Although I still can't fish in Dalaran, I may try Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra. This'll be so I can start farming the fish I need for feasts, raid food and the emotion food for the achievement my hubby's been selling with his bank alt. At 20g each(1 each of the four foods necessary to get the achievement), last night alone he made 160g.
I ended up leveling my fishing skill in Iron Forge for two reasons, one for more attempts at catching Old Ironjaw and two because the Northrend server kept crashing. A new patch was released yesterday and between that and the normal instability caused by Wintergrasp, the server kept crashing every few minutes. They finally just shut down Wintergrasp and are attempting to fix it. Personally, I think Wintergrasp should be on a separate server, but I understand that making that switch would be very difficult.
We were able to raid, although not Heroic Naxx, too much lag on the instance servers and not enough healers. We did another 10-man Naxx. We got through 2 and 1/3 Quarters (Spider, Plague, and the first boss of Military). We dragged one of our newly 80 druids through it by sheer force of will, he was not geared at all, but everyone else was experienced and geared. It was fun and it seemed Naxx was in on it, as primarily leather gear kept dropping. I love seeing others' toons getting geared. Although, if something drops for me, look out, I will snatch it up. :)

Long weekends and everything else under the sun
Monday was a holiday for me (Yay, government job!) and Friday was my day off (I work a 9/80 schedule). I had such grand plans for the long weekend, too bad I only seem capable of partially following through. I was going to clean up the office and make a space where I could do meditation. I only got to the mostly cleaning up the office. I was going to do the laundry and iron clothes. I did the laundry, no ironing action happened. I was going to clean off the dining room table, well, its mostly clean, but there are still a few piles of stuff on it. I was going to put away decorations, that didn't even come close to happening. I was able to work on my knitting project. I'm knitting a slip dress pattern from Knitting Lingerie Style by Joan McGowan Michael. I'm almost done with the front. The back is complete. Maybe next weekend I'll finish the front...
I accomplished much in WoW, although not all planned. I completed all daily cooking quests for both Northrend and Outland, that checked off two more achievements. Yay! While doing the Northrend cooking daily I also did the explore achievement for one of the areas (I forget which one, it was for the quest Manalicious). My cooking skill is now up to 400, so I started using the Dalaran Cooking Awards to buy new recipes and cook them up as I find the ingredients. I did the Heroic (25-man) Archavon, or the Vault. Also completed all four quarters of the 10-man Naxx (I have no idea how to spell the full name). We couldn't quite get Saphiron down, but I'm sure we'll try again this weekend. We kept butting our heads against him, not sure if we're lacking the right group makeup, gear or talent (maybe some combo?) . I have exalted status with both the Wyrmrest Accord and the Kal'uka (Yay! I have Pengu - so cute!). I finished all the quests in Sholazzar Basin (In To the Basin Achievement) and am now working on the Oracles to get exalted with them, so I can buy Mysterious Eggs (more pets and possibly a mount). I started completing quests in Howling Fjord. I did not get my fishing up to 350 nor have I caught Old Ironjaw, but I'm quite a bit closer. My fishing skill is now 345 and if I push I should be able to get 350 by the end of the week. I'll have to see how much time I have this week.
My package from MAC's New Year's 25% off online sale arrived yesterday. I bought the rest of their Dame Edna collection (<3 her!) and two LE blushes (Plum du Blois and Blooming), Vellum eyeshadow (LE), and several travel sized pots for my pigments and loose powders. I find smaller pots easier to deal with on a regular basis rather than the full pot. I think I'm going to Back2MAC most of their newest collection, Brunette, Blonde and Redhead (BBR).

From Anathema to Eragon...
I finished Anathema with some mixed thoughts. The ending while, seemingly predictable, had some random events that when explained later made sense. Either everyone would die, with no conclusion, or the world designed by the author would have to change dramatically to continue to progress. I found some comfort in the knowledge that Earth was neither the first nor the last to go through the upheavals created by the dimension travelers. It was also nice to see that they all found a place in the end.
I bought, several months ago, the boxed Eragon Trilogy. I bought it online and had assumed it would arrive as soon as it was released, unfortunately I didn't read the fine print. The website would only ship, once everything was ready to go out at the same time, in one box and I couldn't cancel the order because there were items that could be shipped within 24 hours. I was stuck waiting for the entire shipment to arrive, so that I could then return the books that I re-bought at a store while I waited. Fortunately, for the website, I had not had a chance to read this trilogy and had not re-purchased it.
I read Eragon in two days, I've read it once before and was excited to refresh my memory of the book in preparation for reading the third in the series. I've seen the movie and I am disappointed I will never get that time back. It was terrible. They cut so much from the book there almost wasn't enough left to consider it based on the book other than the characters names! Very upsetting considering there have been several movies made based on fantasy books or even comic books that were done really well.
Today, I started Eldest...next stop Brsinger!

Fishing in WoW
So, I couldn't even keep up with one day of my fishing goal. It isn't entirely my fault, I was working on my daily cooking quest and the dailies with the walrus people (A few more days and I'll be exalted, Pengu, here I come!!!) when a couple of guildies wanted to run heroics. How could I say "No"? So off I went while roping in the DH to run Heroic Nexus and The Culling of Stratholme. I keep missing the achievement with Keristraza in the Nexus and we didn't make the timer for the Caverns of Time, but we made a good effort to get it. We might have made it, but the tank got a little over excited at the end and tried to just push through all the elite trash as Stratholme burned. Not good, because we wiped, but now we know not to do that for next time. Oh well.
Back to my fishing issue. I'm still not high enough level to get out of the old kingdom to fish, so getting back and forth is kind of a pain. Yes, I know I have it easier as a mage, but that doesn't mean I want to constantly teleport to places. Maybe tonight I'll get a chance to do some fishing before raid starts. (Ha, not likely, and now that I've written it down, almost impossible! :P) it'll get done this weekend. I have a long weekend, so I could work on fishing all day Friday and not feel guilty - or at least not too much. Plus, I'll need to do the daily cooking quests in Shattrath. I only need to complete 2 more to get that achievement.
If I can get my fishing skill up, so I can fish in Northrend, there are tons of achivements I can complete and I'll have lots of fish for cooking raid food with. Always a good thing!

MAC (Cosmetics not computers)
About 6 months ago I found a new obsession - makeup. Not just any makeup, it has to be MAC. I've always used them, but for some reason last June I really started to pay attention to them. I branched out from my very basic (read, only the necessities) collection to having to reorganize and expand the shelving and containers in my bathroom to encompass my quickly expanding stash.
Quantitatively, I started with 1 blush, 2 eyeshadows, and foundation. Now I have 10 blushes, over 50 eyeshadows, 2 foundations, 10 mascaras, and dozens of eyeliners, lipsticks, lipglosses and other miscellaneous items. I'm on all kinds of mailing lists for different makep companies and I follow several beauty blogs.
I do not plan on this blog becoming another beauty blog. I may from time-to-time review products, but I doubt I'll ever put up pictures. That's not the direction I want to take this blog.
Last week, I put in two orders, one at Sephora and one with MAC online (they were having a sale - this is rare enough that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pick up some items from their permanent collection). The order from Sephora is scheduled to arrive on Thursday and MAC will be here Monday. I'm sooooo excited!!
The Sephora order was small, but I'm in need of a new exfoliator for my body. The last one I tried I had an allergic reaction to it. The one I ordered, The White Ball, by Ojon Tawaka, is supposed to be mostly natural and organic products. I've heard great things about it. I'm currently trying out their hair products as well. So far, so good. The other item I purchased was an eyeshadow dou by NARS call Jolie Poupee (purples). Another item I've heard great things about that I've wanted to try.
MAC had 25% off everything online, so I bought lots. I filled out the items I was missing from the Dame Edna collection (Love her!) and picked up couple more blushes and accessory type items I've been lemming. Yay!

WoW
Yes! I am a WoW addict. Although, I must admit, that I started as a way to connect with my hubby more often. He was playing every night while sitting next to me as I watched a movie or tv. Three nights a week he would rush home and I would have to make dinner and put it in front of him, so that he could make raid nights with his guild. I was both happy that he had a hobby/addiction that could be easily done anywhere, but sad that we didn't spend much time communicating. Now, I'm in it for the achievements. I want them all!
I thought I'd start with the exploration ones and level up my cooking and fishing at the same time, since I needed to go back to the old world anyway. That didn't happen. I have a short attention span and fishing sucks. So, I have maybe half of the old world explored, with no rhyme or reason, just random areas.
My cooking skills are doing pretty good, but that was by freely spending money on auction house purchases to get me where I wanted to be. I'm still about 90 points shy of topping out that skill, but at least I can work on the dailies at both Shattrath and Dalaran.
Fishing is one of the worst things for me to do, but I want those achievements. I have 40 points to go til I can train for the Grand Master Fisherman. I've made it my goal to do 10 points a night for the next 4 days. It may not last 2 days, but at least I'll be that much closer.
Surprisingly, the easiest ones to get have been the random ones. Either running Heroic Instances or completing quests. Both of which I enjoy doing. I get my social interaction and complete achievements as I go. (Yes, the hubby does the quests with me, now.)
Oh, my goal for this year is to complete every achievement for every world event, in one year. I'm off to a great start, I completed Winter Veil and got the Merrymaker title with 4 days to spare! Next up the Lunar New Year...

I love Neal Stephenson's books!
I've been reading Neal Stephenson's latest book Anathema. Actually, I'm almost done. I love this book! Like most of his works he proposes concepts that challenge the way I think. He creates worlds/futures that could be real. I can't wait to see how this one ends.
I've read Cryptonomicon, The Diamond Age, and Snowcrash. I'll be picking up the rest of his books soon. I have to say that when I find an author I like I tend to get obsessive about reading all of the books they've written (good, bad and never should have been written).
Other authors I obsessively read:
Anne McCaffrey
Laurell K. Hamilton
Sherrilyn Kenyon
Tamora Pierce
Orson Scott Card
Anne Bishop
Stefanie Meyer
Eoin Colfer

And the list goes on and on....
Usually I'm reading Science Fiction/Fantasy, but I do get into moods where I'll go and read classics, plays, fiction and very occasionally non-fiction. I'm not much into biographies, though I will make an exception for well written biographies of famous (or in some cases infamous) women.
Edit: Finished Anathema Friday. Wow! It was amazing.
Eoin Colfer
Mercedes Lackey

Introduction
My primary goal for this blog is to have a place to put my thoughts down and document things going on in my life. My writing may not be great and at times will be rambling and random, occasionally ranting, but true.
My name is actually Lisa, KyaLyn is my favorite D&D character I created. Yes, I play Dungeons and Dragons although I have not had a chance to try out 4th edition. Currently I'm playing World of Warcraft, obsessively. I'm married, no children, except for my two dogs.
